Our Author
Ever since she was a young girl, Emmy dreamed of exploring the world. Since then, she has been fortunate to visit many corners of the world, and is now settled in Mauritius, a tropical island in the Indian Ocean.
After delivering her son Remy into the world, and during those long newborn naps, Emmy began to write about the adventures she hopes they will share together in the future.
Inspired by real places, cultures and her university studies in sustainable tourism development, Emmy has made it her mission to write children's books about responsible travel, conservation and sustainability that guide young readers to explore these important themes in a light-hearted way, through imaginative and immersive storytelling.
Meet Emmy Chan
Hi, I'm Emmy, the founder of Little Mangrove Press. I am a mother to my young son Remy, and an emerging children's author, writing gentle stories rooted in real places, experiences, and environmental themes. Through hopeful and imaginative adventures, my stories introduce young readers aged 4-8 to sustainability, conservation, and responsible travel in hopeful and empowering ways. My books are inspired by my Master’s degree studies focussing on sustainable tourism development, as well as my wish to help raise a generation of children who are drawn to explore the world, discover different cultures, and cherish and protect the natural world. My first book will be released later this year, with several more stories already in the works.
