Our Author

Ever since she was a young girl, Emmy dreamed of exploring the world. Since then, she has been fortunate to visit many corners of the world, and is now settled in Mauritius, a tropical island in the Indian Ocean.

After delivering her son Remy into the world, and during those long newborn naps, Emmy began to write about the adventures she hopes they will share together in the future.

Inspired by real places, cultures and her university studies in sustainable tourism development, Emmy has made it her mission to write children's books that guide young readers to explore themes of sustainability, responsible travel and conservation in a light-hearted way, through imaginative and immersive storytelling.

Meet Emmy Chan

Hi, I'm Emmy, the founder of Little Mangrove Press. I am a mother to my young son Remy, and an emerging children's author, writing gentle stories rooted in real places, experiences and environmental themes. Through exciting and imaginative adventures, my stories introduce young readers ages 4-8 to sustainability, conservation and responsible travel in hopeful and empowering ways. My books are inspired by my Master’s degree studies focussing on sustainable tourism development, as well as my wish to help raise a generation of children who are drawn to explore the world, discover different cultures and cherish and protect the natural world. My debut title will be released on September 27th 2026, with several more stories already in the works.
